At times you must let go
Detachment will allow you to move forward. Either one step at a time or when all comes crashing down on your head. You may pause for thought, but forward you must go. The first teaching of the Gita (2.11) insists that even in encounters with death and consequential loss you must push on and that requires a level of letting go. Detachment is one thing not everything and when exercised timely you will grow.
