Succeed with humility and honesty

"No institution can possibly survive if it needs geniuses or supermen to manage it. It must be organized in such a way as to be able to get along under a leadership composed of average human beings." A thought by Drucker that we in ISKCON may do well to embrace. Prabhupada, the institution's founder, was who he was....he is not an act to be followed. That any leader should compare to him or imagine that it is our expectation of them is a succession plan doomed to disappoint.

Succession is no walk in the park. To succeed any entrepreneur is a tall order what to speak of a spiritual giant whose revelations and personal charisma inspired thousands.  Such persons are rare and they found and inspire great things. Their lives invigorate others in pursuit of the vision and values they held dear. We can only hope to succeed such genius by honesty and humility. Together upholding and pushing on--not imitating.  To been seen as humble yet inspired devotees is enough, and with the little 'intelligence and organisation' that Prabhupada spoke of, we should be alright.
