abused, trashed and served up as junk...

In ancient times animals were sacrificed, an act in which the life lost was valued in some esoteric performance. It was valued for loosing its life to sustain the life of the sacrificer. In that way it was a sacrifice. Slaughter is something else, it is more representative of 'thorough defeat'. A life abused, trashed and served up as 'junk'. We can't be blind to this, we cannot stand before love itself in our final end and say I was unaware. If the other sentient creatures that we share this earth with must die as our food, they deserve far more. They deserve to be respected, valued as greater than I...as thy life was lost for mine.
