Faith, belief and experience.
Faith and belief, terms often debated by theologians. Of the many ways they may be interpreted or understood, this morning I was ruminating on them as constructed trust and profoundly experiential-- respectively. Constructed thus inferring that it is faith built on sources external to the self i.e. teachings of the guru and recognised texts (vaidhi sraddha). The profoundly experiential arising from within, a deep felt appreciation with a concomitant want for more (lobhamayi sraddha). Something far more akin to belief, to knowing. In this sense progress from that which is constructed (faith) to the experienced (belief) is a great and important achievement, and far less easily deconstructed.
